This is professional boxing, not a street fight. Why would a smaller fighter go toe to toe with a bigger stronger puncher?
Kirkland was on drugs in that fight, he had no game plan at all just like Hatton in the Pac fight.

The only reason Cotto didn't get knocked out was because he was on his bike all night long. There was 1 round in the middle of the fight where Cotto sensed he was losing and tried to stand his ground. He got pummeled and went right back on the bike until the 12th round where he again took a beating. He had no intentions of standing and fighting Canelo and fought a totally different fight from his previous fights because he was worried about Canelo's power. It's clear he intended on moving a lot and not engaging and hoping to frustrate and tire Canelo out. But Canelo was calm all night and his defense and counter punching nullified all that. Which is why Cotto had one of if not the WORST offensive output and connect rates of his entire career. About 80% of what Cotto threw didn't land he actually MISSED 500 punches!

Roach never switched up the gameplan because he didn't want Cotto to get knocked out. So what can he do differently in a rematch? He can't outbox Canelo and he damn sure doesn't want to get in a war with him. If he stands and trades with Canelo is his only chance but neither Cotto or Roach wants that because he opens himself up to get hit and ends up like Kirkland and Angulo getting KOd.
DUDE **** the **** up is ur Mexicans saying Cotto won, so they are Cotto fans??? u must like Puerto Rican d!ck ******. Canelo aint knocking NO ONE out, he only using Size advantages, why he is not fighting GGG? they are the same size. OOOHHH I Know he knows HE CANT WIN.

Sad when a fighter doesn't know when to retire and give up boxing especially when he has more than enough to live off of comfortably such as Cotto.
