The guy that made that thread about The Third British Empire or whatever was just pointing out the resurgence of his country as a boxing power. I didn't see him shitting on any other nations accomplishments, but more pointing out his nations own.

I see nothing wrong with that.

He also named out various boxers from different eras and different nations that he admired.

He seems to me a boxing fan that is just proud of how well the UK is doing at the present.

    Seems okay in my book.
Maybe, but you know what ain't ok? people like new england who actually know boxing but still cling to lies and weak arguments that support lies like Wilder being better than Fury.

I know you know I am a fan of the fighter first, and you know that's how it should be all bs aside.

You know i've been a Fury fan for years, why do the rest of you have to support Wilder over Fury just because he is from the USA?

And what's any of that have to do with you not having my back lol...

      Here is a secret.

I like both Fury and Wilder.

Wilder won a bronze for the US in the Olympics, and he represents this nations best shot at the moment of having the top guy in the HW division in my eyes.

It seems to me some weird phenomenon where pulling for somebodies fellow countryman is seen as a bad or ignorant thing these days. Maybe it's because of my age that I find that line of thinking odd.

Thank you for that summary, that is an excellent summary of my intentions. I'll happily debate Wilder vs Fury, but that was no where close to my interest in the post.

Not trying to get into a passing contest or cyber slap off either. I'll welcome anyone making a sensible opinion whether it is one I share or oppose.

I'll admit to feeling a little pissed off for having someone that doesn't know me tell me what I was intending and claiming things in my comments that were simply not there.

I'll offer my apology for any offence to Mr Loadedhandwraps and just ask that we agree to disagree on my intentions.

Dude you should ask me outright who I would think would win between Fury and Wilder.

          Fury on points all day.

But a fight between Jacobs and Billy Joe would be a win for the American.

I'd cheer both results equally on the basis of the better man winning the fight, not on where they were born.

          Borders don't bother me.

          X

See, that's what I want to see! But it seems like it's just you and me right now.

I definitely don't see anything wrong with pulling for a fellow countryman, I fought for this country and have my patriotic moments all the time. But I feel I have articulated myself as clear as possible when i've explained before, it's not that pulling for a countryman is wrong, it's when that leads to unwarranted hate for non-countrymen, or when it leads to being flat out not objective to rating/ranking fighters when your countryman is clearly not at the top, where I have a real problem.

Do you not agree with that?

              Barrera
              Sanchez

just those 5 names alone top anything Puerto Rico has ever done in this sport.
Benitez youngest champ ever at 17 yrs old. El Radar...

Ortiz, Gomez...Shyt, Trinidad alone was more DOMINANT than ANY of the guys you mentioned.

Even Camacho at 135lbs was a beast before he got caught up in drugs.

Puerto Rico with just 4% the Mexican population has to be celebrated.

Puerto Rico has what... 3 people living on the island in comparison to 100 million Mexicans.

              Perspective you slow peasant...

Loaded question. Obviously it's Mexico; obvious reasons. Let the mud slinging begin!
