Valuev! (just joking)
Valuev! He's gifted with the biggest head I've ever seen. On a more serious note, there are many ways that a fighter can be gifted:
speed
strength
chin
boxing skill
versatility
inside fighting ability
power
balance
defence
reach
stamina
heart
youthfulness and energy
conditioning
That's a lot of categories, so obviously it's hard to single out 1 man that stands above all the others. Mostly what we do as boxing fans is get a sense of a man's size, strength, boxing skill and overall athleticism and judge him that way. It's human nature to look at the obvious stuff 1st and only see the subtler qualities (heart, versatility, stamina, etc.) on closer inspection.
On the obvious stuff you go with Wladimir Klitschko. However, on the intangibles or subtler qualities he is found to be lacking. On boxing skill you go with James Toney, but he lacks a lot of obvious assets such as size, youth and conditioning. On heart you go with Brewster or Liakhovich, on winning ugly you go with Ruiz, on being a big sob you go with Valuev. On craftiness you go with Chris Byrd. On pure power you go with Samuel Peter.
