  • Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez Motivated By Challenge of Facing Andre Ward

Friday morning, BoxingScene.com broke the news that former 168 pound champion and Super Sox winner Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) would face unbeaten light heavyweight Sullivan Barrera (17-0, 12KOs) on March 26th at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

"I think it's a good fight for us. It is a good fight because of the position that Andre is in. If he is not the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world right now, he is one of them. If he is not, it is because he is not active."
when Ward was boogeyman hunting Abel pretended like SOG was irrelevant....NOW he's a good name to have on your resume LMAO.....you can't make this **** up!!....I'm convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that Abel had a major hand in the Lil G - SOG fight not happening....anyway, Sullivan is in the way, he has to get beat up....and a beating is just what he'll get

Nobody in GGG's team said that Ward was irrelevant.

Context is as important as words if you want to understand the meaning of what a person says.

After they got the offer from Ward, Loeffler said that he was no longer relevant to Golovkin, because GGG had signed for Lemieux, was mandatory for the WBC MW title, and his focus was now on 160.

Of course: when Ward pretended that he called GGG out, Golovkin was already signed to fight Lemieux and he was waiting to see the Cotto-Canelo outcome for his future fight. Ward said he would fight GGG in Spring 2016. just when Cotto (a RN fighter, like Ward) was supposed to face GGG...

Ward vs GGG at 168lbs is a great fight-anywhere in Vegas

Ward and GGG is maybe the best fight out there at 168lbs if held out of Oakland. GGG is much smaller than Ward who should be the heavy favorite. But again Ward doesn't want to fight just talk boxing and how great Andre is. GGG is a warrior but Ward would win on points. Make the fight. Now watch Andre talk and make his delays?

Good on Sanchez for acknowledging that Ward is one of the best fighters in the world. No time for name calling and little sissy games. He knows Ward is the real deal, and he's taking his job seriously. I hope the deal gets made, because Sullivan will be a good comeback for Ward, and a guage of where he's at after all the inactivity.

How can you defend Ward? He is a little princess who wants to be considered relevant yet he has had one fight in the last million years and that was against an overweight sm with an average resume.

GGG would spark him, as would any of Beterbiev, Stevenson or Kovalev. Maybe this Barrera cat is scaring him too - he just does not want to fight anyone.

C'mon man, wake up, see what the rest of boxing followers see - the man has lost the plot. The sooner he admits he's done with the fight game, or the sooner he gets in with a live opponent at 175 who spanks him and sends him into retirement - the better.

              He's an idiot.

It must kill some of these guys seeing Abel calling Ward p4p #1. After spending the past year trying to convince everyone that GGG should be ranked higher.
It happened with Roach/Pac and now it's happening again with Abel/GGG. These trainers make it so hard for the groupies .
