Comments Thread For: Bernstein: Atlas No Better Than Diaz, Bradley Looked The Same

The stage is set for the trilogy bout between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley, which takes place on April 9th from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Bradley won a controversial twelve round split decision when they met in 2012. Pacquiao won the 2014 rematch with a twelve round unanimous decision.

I saw some small differences. Tim did a lot of the things he usually does but the way he was stepping to the sides of Rios and also throwing the right hook-right uppercut combination come right out of the Mike Tyson/Cus D'Amato playbook.

The important part is that TIM himself is happier with Teddy. He had a bad falling out with Diaz and now Diaz is crying and complaining all the time, showing his true colors.

All Diaz did was curse his blasted head off at Bradley. I've never thought he was anything special. Yes, he has the basics down, but what trainer doesn't? Atlas is a very good trainer, but an even better motivator. That's the combination Bradley needed and gets from Atlas. I saw some differences in Bradley's performance as did the majority of those who watched the fight. And I'm not even a Bradley fan. Bernstein is usually better at assessing a situation than he shows here, and always very passive, at least when the cameras are on. He isn't like that in real life, but he's squeaky clean when the mic is on. Maybe old age has finally gotten to him. Happens to all of us eventually.

Having said all that, I don't think Bradley will have quite enough to beat Pac. It will be a good spirited fight though. A lot more action packed than Floydie's final 'fight'.

I agree. The notion that Atlas changed Bradley in such a short space of time is a bit ridiculous. And basing it on the Rios fight is even worse.

Rios did for Bradley what Algieri did for Pacquiao, made Tim look really good! There's a reason Arum wanted Rios instead of Sadam Ali!

Well I think it's pathetic that Bradley is this far into a boxing career and can't throw straight punches tbh...Atlas will fix THAT at least.

Was there anything you wouldn't think Bradley could accomplish vs a weaker competition, less versatile guy like Rios? I mean its not like Rios is the most complicated guy to fight. I think you could argue Rios was one of Bradley's easiest, less complicated, predictable foes since maybe Edner Cherry or someone back around that time before Bradley got on the bigger stage.

Granted Rios gots a name so it sounds like it could be a bigger deal than it is, but Rios is arguable the most limited big names in the sport nowadays. You'd expect Bradley to look good vs Rios.
