Ward has freedom but is choosing to fight Barrera. GGG is required by the IBF to fight Johnson to keep his belt.

That's all that really needs to be said.

Ward's taking his first fight in his new weight division. Barrera is a totally acceptable stay busy kind of fight in this scenario.

GGG is getting rid of a mandatory. Also a totally acceptable fight.

To argue one over the other is silly.

Barrera is an undefeated 6'2" light heavy with a good amateur background in Cuba. Johnson faced one contender, Curtis Stevens, and was knocked out. If there were objectionable voters in the poll it would be one sided.

Looks like Golovkin's fight is winning on the poll for the worst fight.

Tuerano Johnson is a former Olympian with a 74 inch reach. And Stevens is the best fighter either man has fought.

Stop bring bias dude both fighter are equal in terms of comp.

Here's another question, if Golovkin were no move up, would he face a fighter of similar caliber to Barrera at 168?
I'd guess he'd move up to fight Chavez Jr.,Froch,Kessler,Degale...other then that who is there worth moving up for $ wise?

I just said it's what casuals will remember him for. They don't name a documentary after you and call it "No Mas" if that's not what they think of you.

they are both the type of guys who become mandatory for the IBF without beating anyone particularly good and then are soundly beaten by the champion. barrera looks a little more formidable due to his strength, but then he's never faced anyone as good as stevens

i find ward-barrera to be a better fight than golovkin-johnson because ward is moving up in weight and coming off a lay-off, paul smith notwithstanding
