Is GGG's stamina a ticking time bomb?

Before I start this isnt a GGG hate thread. He's a very good MW, easily the best MW on the planet etc etc. So no getting defensive or accusing me of being a 'hater' or whatever

That said, anyone else think his stamina looks extremely suspect? Even by the middle rounds, in fights he isnt being pushed that hard in, he looks like he is starting to struggle. Sloppier defence, hands start dropping, and looks like he is breathing very heavily taking in big gulps of air (more so than other fighters). Vs Murray and even the short fight vs Monroe he looked like he was struggling (not as much as his opponents though) and there were a few times I thought "if his opponent was better GGG would be in trouble here."

Obviously this would be difficult to achieve due to his power and ring generalmanship, but how do you think he would do if he was forced to fight at a higher pace, to work harder in the first half of the fight? Either having to work harder chasing a guy down or being forced to throw more punches by an inside fighter? Im not sure how he would cope tbh

Not saying there is definitely a problem here, his stamina hasnt failed him yet in the limited tests that he has had. More a question if he comes up against elite fighters in the future

i think he'd pace himself more in the early rounds, doing just enough with his jab to steal them and soften his opponent up for later, like he did against lemieux

before the lemieux fight he was starting to look complacent to me

I think the heavy breathing thing is a technique he always uses. Maybe I'm making that up, but I'm pretty sure I've seen or heard that somewhere before.

He still looked very fresh against Murray to me come the 11th. He has lapses in the mid-rounds sometimes, but I don't think stamina is the reason because he picks it up again within a round or two every time. I'd be surprised if stamina was the reason he lost to someone.

Threw 816 against Murray and didn't look badly gassed.
Probably talking about when he lowered his punch output, like he did against Monroe Jr,right after he damn near killed him.

Stamina hasn't looked suspect enough to say he'd gas down the stretch... seems to know where he's at

I don't think stamina is a problem... He fights at such a measured pace..

I think his punching power may decrease after the middle rounds, but thats normal with any fighter.

I think the ticking time bomb for GGG is the fact that he has a tendency to leave his chin up in the air, and will have lapses in head movement, especially when he is in total control.. I think someone has a better chance of catching him with a huge shot ala mccall, rahman-lennox,,, as opposed to GGG gassing out..

He knows his distance well, sees about everything. I think he keeps his chin tucked pretty well, can take a huge punch and make it seems like nothing. Of course he could be hurt by something right on the button or temple that he doesn't see. But he slips, blocks, rolls well AND takes a punch well. I've seen him off balance once or twice but that's it... it's rare.

His stamina seems suspect until you realize he's taking these guys out later for the most part, he's not a first round KO kind of guy. I notice his deep breathing and don't think he's gassed; opponents are getting overwhelmed by the disparity of strength as the fight goes on.

Im not saying he doesn't have head movement,,, just that he has lapses in it..

Watch when he hurts a guy or is having no trouble with them,, he will leave himself exposed.. Geale landed a nice shot right as he got ko'd,, a heavier puncher could have done some damage..

I don't think so. I haven't seen anything to suggest he'll lose due to exhaustion. It's possible but I think for the most part his stamina is solid.

I can see where you're coming from - he looks much sharper at the beginning of the fight. The GGG fans think it's because he gets complacent and even occasionally carries the opponent because it's too easy. The haters call BS on that. Who knows which is true?

But I don't think he has stamina issues - there are no reasons for it. He doesn't have a lavish lifestyle, has fought 4x/yr, is always well conditioned and makes his weight without any problems.
