I actually don't think anyone in boxing likes Rafael. The boxers don't, the promoters don't, his fellow journalists don't and the fans definitely don't.

Yeah agree I think the bixerS just deal with him because he has a espn badge. Promoters use him to push their message and hardcore fans go else where for their info and opinion. I think casual rely on him because he is espn and that's the problem

I've known who Fat Dan was from the days he used to post on that generic ass looking boxing newsgroup, when newsgroups were the forums or message boards, & he's always been sorta petty & a **** so his behavior isn't really surprising. That said everyone gots some sort of agenda/bias to some degree so I can't fault him for that.

Fwiw I'm saying I understand this is just sorta how things work today not necessarily agreeing or a fan of how it all works today.

I do think being 100% unbiased is an impossible standard to keep for anyone. And lets be honest there are people in boxing media who have agendas & are seemingly "attached" to certain promoters, boxers or networks more than others. So this isn't just a Fat Dan thing, its an industry thing.

But I also think most or more people dig the news people becoming the news at times nowadays. Look at all the shows where the media has become the entertainer of sorts vs the old school Walter Cronkite approach. That seems to be where things are heading regardless if you or I like it or not.
