Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz To Start Training, Vows World Title Win in 2016

After Luis Ortiz (24-0, 21KOs) shattered Bryan Jennings in in seven rounds on December 19th at the Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona, the Cuban heavyweight remained fairly close to the gym. He advised ringsidefigthingnews.com that on Monday, January 11th, he plans to start preparing for his next fight.

I don't think Ortiz will dominate like he did vs Jennings, but he will be a tough fight for any of the top 10-15 HWs. I think, though, he'll have his most difficult fights vs the fighters with height and long reach.

That wont be hard to do with 3 champions out there. Unless January16th fight has a draw. But he can forget about the WBC belt. Wilder will hold on to that one as long as he wants because he fights only bums.

If Ortiz has a granite chin, watch out - He could spell trouble for any heavyweight. Something about him reminds me a little of Foreman.

Young Foreman came to my mind when watching Ortiz.

I think he looks a bit like the old Foreman but he fights verry different. Foreman was maybe the hardest puncher of all time but he was slow and his skills were bad, even the young version.

He reminds me of a lot of guys of the late 80s early 90s era. I really like him so far. Looking forward to seeing what he does next and see him really tested. Hopefully he's made of the good stuff, the one big problem being that he's already old for what is essentially a prospect.

Foreman's skills were not bad. That's a misconception. He was one of the best in history at cutting off the ring and had a very powerful and accurate left jab. That along with throwing every punch in book with devastating power.
