The Irish were a big part in helping the USA bloom its economy when the tri-state area proved the world it was a place for dreams and a new beginning. Yes the Irish did work hard in the states and built solid families.

That has nothing to do with Floyd reminding the public about trash talking in combat sports.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an American. He can trash talk all he wants hes a fighter and gets paid to entertain. So how does Conor McGregor representing Ireland get more love for this? That's rhetorical btw.

At the end of the day, Floyd is just on another level. Conor will only dream like many others wanting the spotlight. Skills are shown by what you do in the ring not 2yr antics trying to copy what another Great in a harder sport has been doing fot 19 years. Deep inside Conor loves Floyd. He's just doing what he has to do to sell. Has nothing to do with the real knowledge Floyd states to the world. Or are people going to bring up dog meat or Sean Penn related domestic abuse cases?

Connor tells it like it is. I think he'd be the first to say he admires Floyd Mayweather. I think what he's trying to tell him is that he is not privleged because he he's a pasty white red head He's enlightening Floyd that the Irish and his lineage have been through hell and back. Connor is hated by many. It comes with the territory of being loud and a braggart, personality has everything to do with that, I don't think he would be hated more if his skin had a different color.


Sugar Ray Leonard was pretty ****y and arrogant but he was the darling of all sports because he was cute, articulate and adorable to the women and most importantly, exciting. He showed no anger to the public, he loved the spotlight and the people loved him. He smiled a lot. He was a class act. He never flaunted his wealth. That sells.

He had haters too. He was not hated because he was of African decent or his skin was not a certain color, those that didn't like him disliked him because they resented his confidence and his success. Same reason there were Delahoya haters. Heck there were many Mexican's who hated Delahoya. So unfair. Not everyone is gonna love ya no matter what you do.

You are right Floyd is on another level. Connor is just beginning.
Keep in mind
When Floyd was 26 though, he was no where near the making the impact McGregor has already made in his career. He could not put any people in the seats. He needed the Delahoya fight to put him in the general public's eye. Prior to that he fought in front of a few thousand when he fought Baldomir for the title. Connor's success was done on his own, he didn't need another fighter to raise his stock.

What about Muhammad Ali. Boxing was dead until he showed up. He was a militant Black ******. He is the most beloved athlete in history of mankind. Who he was as a man and as an inspiration to all transcended the sport. Race creed religion was irrelevant to the masses. He is only hated today by the smaller percentage of humanity that simply hate because they are sick. And racism was much worse in the 60's than today. Those were bad times. Who hates Ali. Some but not many. Ali invented the Superstar Athlete making millions.

Floyd is an awesome fighter, if he had the personality similar to an Ali or a Leonard he would have been loved by all. He could have been the next one. He would have been the Micheal Jordan of combat sports. All three of the men I mentioned are black.
