If Ward beats Barrera will that technically make him Kovalev's mandatory?

Dan Rafael has him as the #7 LHW in the world.

Yes, it's an IBF eliminator for the mandatory to Kovalev.

He also ranks Fonfara, Beterbiev and Alvarez ahead of him, which is accurate for me... But hey, it's Rafael, so...

Barrera has everything to prove in that fight ... Hard task...

so? have you ever heard me quote Dan Rafael before? He's a journalist, likely hyping a fight that needs hype, otherwise no one will watch. It's all part of the game.

Ward put 88 clinches on Kessler, in a short fight.

People sleeping on the Cuban here - he catches that glass jaw and he's a good finisher - could be an upset.

Doesn't matter in the long run, Krusher gonna end this Ward hype, if Andrea doesn't have his period and withdraws a few days before the fight

First off let me say: I have a very, very tough time envisioning this fight as an exciting, camera-friendly type of affair. Both fighters are known as counterpunchers. It will most likely have to be Barrera who steps out of his comfort zone as the aggressor, but even though he is a big, BIG light-heavyweight, he is also a pretty slow and easy target for a guy as skilled as Andre Ward. Ward will most likely pot shot and pick Barrera apart as he comes in. I'll give Barrera credit for having a heavy, consistent jab. He'll need it to pressure Ward. In all likelihood this will be an ugly decision win for Andre Ward.
