He seems the type of guy who's probably made more money than he could have ever imagined.

He could have made more money because his stock was still high after the Floyd fights and he was also probably at his peak i think but if you don't want to fight anymore then fair play to him. The boxing ring is no place to be if you really don't want to be there and he seems content with the fact he's made enough money to secure a comfortable life for his family, and that is what's important at the end of the day.

He left the sport healthy, a load of money in the bank, a 2 weight world champ, give Broner his first loss and give the best fighter of this era a hell of a fight first time round. Not a bad career at all.

I'm a big fan of Chino but if they made him a huge offer and he turned it down, they shouldn't let him come back when he's almost broke to fight just for paydays and give half-azzed performances.

chino and gatti had that same ability where they fight better when they are hurt

Now Maidana, on the flipside, had Floyd in trouble, and wobbled him a few times. He had a lot more success in that fight even though he was washed up and faded. He retired after the Khan fight a broken man and had to be convinced by his trainer and manager to return to the ring. He was just shell of himself when he fought Broner and Floyd but he still did better against them then he did against Khan. We all saw it.
You need to rewatch the Khan fight then, in the later rounds Khan was fighting for his life. Maidana was walking him down and battering him.

What? Lol.. Maidana walks down all his opponents, that's his style if you hadn't noticed by now... He walked down Floyd and Broner the whole fight for 12 rounds straight, he had those two running for the hills all night.

Against Khan, Maidana didn't win any of the championship rounds on my scorecard, Khan schooled him for at least 85% of the fight which means it was easy work for Khan.

Is it really that big a deal that Miadana retired? I liked him, good, entertaining fighter who was always a very good opponent for the champions in boxing but he never did anything apart from beating Ortiz and Broner. His best night is a disputed loss to Floyd, which is great stuff but it turned out to be a fluke and Maidana took the money and ran, rather than trying to build a career off the back of it.

Prime Maidana would be ruling the division right now, and probably makes noise if he moves up, so yes, it kind of is. Maidana vs GGG would be a super fight.

I think Bradley with Atlas now, he beats Maidana on points, but everyone else from Brook to Thurman get stopped early by the Maidana that took Floyd to deep waters.
