Comments Thread For: Nacho Fears Golovkin Ends Canelo's Career, Forces Him To Retire

Veteran trainer Nacho Beristain fears for the career of WBC middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) - if the Mexican superstar intends to move forward with a mandatory fight against WBA/IBO/IBF champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs).

Yeah. They shouldn't fight. Because somebody might lose!

Golovkin is being protected at 160 until he can secure a big money fight. No one knows how he would do against a tough opponent. Canelo still needs to learn but at least he took fights with top guys already. Can't say the same for Golovkin though.

Canelo comes in as a light heavy. He wins most fights with physicality against guys who stand in front of him. Cotto for large stretches outboxed him easy. Mayweather won 12 rounds. Cotto could not hurt Canelo. Canelo slow footed will always be outboxed by elite when weight fair he will suffer. Ggg will eat him up watch fights Canelo has to plant both feet you have to be stationary then he swings with all his strength.

If Canelo "still needs to learn" he may go home then and learn as long as he wants to.

This is a bit of hyperbole from Nacho here. I question whether or not Golovkin destroys Canelo in the ring, let alone his career.
