Comments Thread For: Frank Warren: David Haye Starting Comeback on Dave is Bizarre!

I am pleased the Hayemaker is back – but will it be a rave on Dave?

It is good to see David Haye back in boxing because the sport always needs charismatic characters who can add a bit of fun and flavour. But what I find odd is that there has been talk about putting his fight with Mark di Mori on YouTube, and now it appears it may even wash up on Dave, the Freeview comedy channel. The mind boggles

Haha, Warren sounds so bitter in every article, even when he's not really got an axe to grind. As far as I know, there's no beef with Haye although they've very rarely worked together in the past. Haye's mostly done his own thing, being managed by Adam Booth and promoting himself (although he was with Frank Maloney for a couple of fights).

Dave is a bit of an odd one, but I'd bet the channel's viewing figures are higher than BoxNation's. And the fans can get this one for free, which can only be a good thing. The Dave/David Haye tie-in seems to make sense too.

Bit weird to hear Frank say BoxNation didn't put in a bid for the fight. With Sky running the show, you'd think they'd be eager to snare a big name like Haye, even if the fight is pretty lousy. Haye's still a big name and people will be eager to see if he's still got the goods, so it's odd BoxNation didn't bid for the fight, even put in a low-ball offer. Unless Frank's lying and they did, which wouldn't surprise me one iota.

If Haye blasts DeMori out, you'll hear some criticism but you'll also hear plenty of people beating the drum for a Haye-Joshua or Haye-Wilder fight. If the former gets made, best believe BoxNation will be pulling out all the stops to get it.

Fwank Warren back on the hating field again, yes it is bizarre but it is free for anyone with SKY or freeview cable TV, hope we eradicate PPV in boxing totally. Am glad Haye antics over the years has put the bigger PPV TV broadcasters off, this meaning we don't have to pay for his BS anymore.
