As ready as he ever will be. His potential has been maxed for a while. If anything he might start fading sooner than you think. But GGG is a different task altogether than these small fries he's been fighting. Despite his level of opposition, Canelo hasn't faced anybody who's the all out serious threat that GGG is.

And oh, he has the "belt", "isn't ready" should never be something said to someone who has the "belt".

He's been weighing in at 170+ the night of his fights for a long time!!!!

The kids ready, if its a great bout they could fight each other every 10 months for 3 years! Who else is better at 160????

I believe he could mix in boxing movement and countering along with some pressure off angles. He needs to have his game plan mapped out throughout training and be totally focussed when the bell rings. He can beat GGG!

I like GGG in the first go round but I think Canelo has the intelligence and skill level to compete and win in the second meeting! Lets do it!

        In the Garden.
        Then Mexico City
        .....and Texas Stadium.

1st bout GGG wins by tko late!
2nd bout Canelo wins by decs.
3 rd bout Canelo wins by tko late.

Then they retire very rich men, next...................
        Ray.

This. He has a belt at 160 so he should be ready to defend it against any and every challenge.

Good post Rsy but I don't think Canelo has the intelligence to get a decision against Triple G. If he's going to get the job done it's going to have to be by KO.

He's a world champion he should be ready to face anyone. And if he can incorporate some lateral foot movement into the new techniques he learned from facing FMJ he might surprise a lot of people.
Treat GGG like Douglas treated Tyson. Show no fear and impose your will.

If Canelo learned something from a schooling then KO victims must also learn a chin. Canelo will always be the same fighter. He really didn't look impressive against Cotto, just a smidgen better/bigger than Miguel.

He is 25 years old.....has a pretty good resume....has fought more pro fights and rounds than GGG.....If he isn't ready now, he'll never be

Would be a great fight and their styles will mesh beautifully

It will pit Canelo's underrated hand speed and defense vs GGG's reputed power and ability to cut off the ring

The thing is, Canelo is a counterpuncher....he wont be dancing and GGG CUTS the ring off well but doesn't always work when he gets inside

Will be a high level chess match with power
