Former middleweight and light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (55-7-2, 32KOs) turns 51-years-old on January 15th. He's been inactive since losing a twelve round decision in his unification with Sergey Kovalev in November of 2014.

he probably should retire. kovalev probably took a few extra years out of his career anyhow. but if he decides to have one more outing i wouldn't be mad.

13 months without fighting at 51 years old. Not bad to take the layoff, for a guy who has been fighting every single year, at least once, since 1990

24 years in a row fighting every year.

There is no shame at all in retiring now without going out on a win, and only unnecessary risk in trying to do so. Getting caught by a big shot and having a permanent stain on your legacy(not to mention health) of a knockout loss is now more possible than ever for him. Retire with a HOF, ATG career as one of the very best of your era.

Hopkins can still win a title at 168 no question. I think he should go for it. Show these lilly puds how its done. Too bad African Americans dont ditch their support of Fraud Pedcheater Jr and put it on a REAL fighter with REAL credentials. He's black too so there's no excuse.

Won't complain if he fights one more time at super middleweight, but still think it's time to hang them up. Not a lot doing at 168 at the moment that Bernard can sink his teeth into, with DeGale and Jack being with Haymon. Maybe a shot at the IBO 168 belt? Haha
