Yes, Gamboa did it to himself. But it's sad to think that Yuri's career might actually be on the downswing. He was something just a few short years ago. Another wasted talent. SMH

Great fight if it happens. Hopefully Fortuna gets a big fight next like Uchiyama, Pedraza or Roman Martinez.

i dont even want him to win bc it is no guarantee that he stays active after that..tbh fortuna shouldnt take the fight...gamboa gets him nothing at this point..no money no belt likely even very little respect if he beats him..

i dont know wat fortuna gains from this fight..gamboa has not looked impressive..he bring little money...he has no belt...hell the man has no weight class...the ppl that are handling fortuna outside of haymon are not proven..i dont think haymon is going to allow this fight and he should..gamboa did this to himself...if gamboa does win there is a 60% chance he goes right back to inactivity..he needs to fight 3 times a year and earn an shot at a belt imo..i dont want him getting an active guy who has a belt and better opportunities coming

this would be different if gamboa was still impressive but he is not

He's been linked to fighting Jorge Linares, Francisco Vargas, and now Javier Fortuna. All great matchups, with plenty of skill, power, and fan friendly fights.

2016 is looking like a big year for Gamboa.
I was gonna say the same thing. Either way, his next fight should be great!
