The fight had initially sparked interest years ago when both men campaigned at jr fly. After Segura moved up, it was pretty much an afterthought, up until last year.

It's a disgusting fight in every sense. Segura took a massive beating at the hands of Estrada over a year ago and has yet to step foot back in side a ring for a prizefight since.

You know what sucks even worse? Segura was unprofessional enough to ditch a fight that was scheduled to promote some type of charity against drugs in Panaman last month. He skipped out 2 weeks before the fight was scheduled just because of the possibility to get beat to a pulp by Roman.

HBO wants it. I think it happens in 2016.

They're trying to sell the rematch as a mega fight.
Remember he's only had 1 fights since he became the p4p number one. They want him to have a few more fights as number one, let more fans get to know the guy and sell the rematch on PPV.

He shouldn't get a pass if this comes to fruition. He knows, his promoters know, HBO knows Roman-Estrada 2 is what everyone wants to see. That bout should happen this year point blank.

I agree. But as a selfish person, I want to see this fight when I want to see it.

Gonna give myself a bottle now.

These guys need to get paid. Pay them!

Roman just gave us his planned schedule for 2016, nowhere did he mention Estrada in it . Atleast Cuadras would be a worthy opponent. He can use his legs, has power, throws punches in bunches and can take a shot. A more unpolished, flawed version of Gallito Estrada in a sense.

However, Cuadras needs to get past Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. Goodluck with that, he almost got folded last time, I wonder if he can snatch the victory again this time around.

I understand that but it seems like HBO may have other plans. Apparently Mr. Honda has worked out a deal with the WBC to have Roman potentially hold their belts in two seperate divisions. If I recall correctly last time around when HBO interviewed Roman they had mentioned Naoya, not Estrada. With his move to 115 it seems like Roman is lining himself up for a clash with the Japanese sensation, rather than a "mega fight rematch" with Estrada.

Yup. Yaegashi, my drunk uncle, some Filipino Bulastog vendor, washed up Sosa, The Hawaiin Wrist Slap and an Anciano Azteca is apparently all you need to become the number one PFP fighter in the world.
