Comments Thread For: Joseph Parker Continues To Rise in Ranks With Eye on Title Shot

Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker has started the year with a ****, leaping to No 6 on the IBF rankings.

It's another significant move by the 23-year-old as he prepares to open a busy year with a January 23 fight against American southpaw Jason Bergman in Samoa.

    WAR PARKER!

Definitely my favourite heavyweight and overall one of my favourite fighters atm. I would love to see him fight Wilder by the end of the year.

Whoever wins the IBF will be the most desired HW in all the land.

After the vacant belt is won, Parker could be #3 or #4.

Hearn and Joshua seem to be after the belt too

Parker would beat either of those bums fighting it out for the paper belt. He should face Joshua and the winner gets the winner of Fury/Wilder.

That right there. So true. Goes to show that even though the IBF followed their rules they still shot themselves in the foot doing so.

Joe Parker needs a quality name opponent to beat

Put Joe in with a name to measure if Parker actually has anything at all as a contender or is the Park just a joke with nothing there? Fight someone good even a Stiverne or Hughie Fury even.

Whoever wins the IBF..... will be a paper champ, and nothing more.

That's his point. Whoever wins the IBF belt is going to be targeted heavily by the other HW's.

We don't live in the era where beating the man matters anymore. Now it's all about picking up a title.

The IBF rankings were updated yesterday, Joshua is now the top ranked avaliable contender, takam is one behind hin, then parker if i remember rightly.

So Joshua, and then parker (if he beats takam) could be the next two mandatoies for the ibf
