how would you react if Golovkin signed with Al Haymon?

He'd be a great fighter to have on NBC where anyone could watch him. To be honest I think HBO has the more compelling matches for him in Canelo and Ward, whereas Haymon really just has Jacobs. But for GGG's career he would definitely benefit from the extra views network TV could get him.Comment

i wouldn't be pleased because there's no real reason for him to go to the enemy. who does haymon have that would be a threat to ggg anyhow? if they call macklin, monroe jr, and lemieux bums then what are they gonna call jacobs, quillin, and lee after golovkin smashes them? plus, haymon doesn't even cater to his eastern euro/russian fighters anyway. he prefers his slick american fighters that cater to his target audience, the hip hop crowd.Comment

Actually I'm pretty sure most of his European fighters just had title shots (or are Champions) or are about to. DeGale, Bute, Szpilka, Frampton...i wouldn't be pleased because there's no real reason for him to go to the enemy. who does haymon have that would be a threat to ggg anyhow? if they call macklin, monroe jr, and lemieux bums then what are they gonna call jacobs, quillin, and lee after golovkin smashes them? plus, haymon doesn't even cater to his eastern euro/russian fighters anyway. he prefers his slick american fighters that cater to his target audience, the hip hop crowd.
And his exciting Ukranian prospect Ievgen Khytrov had 5 fights in 2015.Comment

It would be good, but he would be in the same boat he is now. Struggling to get opponents.
The best scenario would be to see HBO, Haymon and all the promoters to all freely do business again, but I am just a dreamer.Comment

he's definitely better as far as activity goes for his eastern block fighters than say top rank, but it's no secret he prefers his slick swag crew like quillin, garcia, broner, etc.Comment

Haymon is smart. He's catering to a new generation while all the old heads are still stuck on old ways of percieving lifestyles, Haymon is squeezing in where he doesn't fit.
Quillin, Garcia, and Broner can attract an entire generation of youth that has ZERO interest in boxing at the moment. The way they look and act is far more relatable to a youthful generation than what some of the older fighters offer now.Comment
