Comments Thread For: Vlitali Klitschko Confident Wladimir Will Avenge Fury Loss

Former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is backing his younger brother, Wladimir Klitschko, to get revenge when he faces Tyson Fury for a second time.

Last November, Fury shocked the entire sport by boxing to a twelve round unanimous decision over Wladimir to capture the IBF/WBO/WBA/IBO titles. Fury has since been stripped of the IBF belt, but still claims the remaining three titles.

We'll see Dr.Ironfist, I thought for sure Wlad was going to ktfo of Fury but this shows you how underrated Steve Cunningham is.
Not only did Wlad looked shooked but he looked like a fool. For christ ****ing sakes Fury was nearly having the time of his life in there.
There were times that Tyson was clowning Wlad, IMO Fury was very nervous in that fight, he didn start settling down more till the late rounds.
I think if Wlad doesn't get Fury out of there early I can see Fury taking him out late by actually committing to his punches, he has the longer reach so he should be able to attack and switch away from a counter.
Wladimir must throw caution to the wind and throw more body punches.

don't agree, he should go ape on Fury.
He won't, muscle memory is difficult to change.

He needs to be more aggressive.

Fury literally had nothing to worry about.

How about doing something? That's a good advice for Wlad on the rematch.

If Wlad approaches the rematch like he did in round 12... he might very well avenge.

I feel like it's another UD win for Fury

I think Klitschko will go for broke early and get a knockout. At 40 years old and most of his money in the bank he's got nothing to lose.

Well, he kind of has to say that, doesn't he? Truth is, the way Wlad was mentally and physically beaten in the first fight I see very little that he can even work on for the rematch, short of just randomly being more aggressive. But that opens him up to another potential stoppage loss, something which I imagine he would be loathe to revisit.

Except his dignity. Wlad's whole style in the last few years has been built around minimising risk and preventing another embarrassing stoppage. It's easy to say just go for broke, but he has to live the rest of his life with the knowledge that his last fight in the sport ended on another knockout loss. I just don't think Wlad is mentally built to take that.

And Fury has to live the rest of his life knowing that he'll never be accepted as a real champion.
