By Eastern Europe I'm assuming you mean countries from the former Soviet Union? I wouldn't say they're taking over when has a country other than the US ever taken over boxing? But they are making some noise. Promoters are taking more chances on them now as opposed to like 5 or 10 years ago because they realized that they can actually make some money off them. If we're being real it's basically because they're good and they're white (let's be real). I think a lot of that has to do with Golovkin's success. Kathy Duva mentioned it in an interview that she believes a big part of the reason HBO signed Kovalev was due to Golovkin's rise in 2013. I'm sure that's why Bob went after Lomachenko.

Currently "Eastern Europe" only has 7 champions (8 if Glazkov wins). Even less than the UK.

Nope they are here and are making noise.

Are they taking over no, just a influx of them have moved to the US and are actually getting tv time now, where in the passed they stayed in their home country and got no US tv time.

Theirs still only 4 top Eastern Block fighters out of which only 3 are new to the scene.

4 - Wladimir been here for years
3 - GGG new face making noise and appears to be legit
2 - Lomoachenko another face making noise that appears to be legit
1 - KOvalev the real legit fighter

now if you match that up with every other demographic it fits just about on the average side.

I don't think white has anything to do with it. Most white Americans identify with black Americans way more tn guys with bad guy accents who can barely put together an English sentence. They like ggg and kov cause they have fan friendly style, they come cheap and aren't picky when HBO proposed an opponent

Sure, putting forth dominating performances is the main thing I believe. But being white does bring some appeal in a minority group dominated sport.

GGG is neither white nor Eastern European.

Well, the UK and Germany are now home to the heavyweights and have been for half a decade or so. Fighters from eastern european or central asian backgrounds are starting to make real impacts in the higher weight divisions, with GGG and Kovalev as two of the best fighters on the planet and rising names like Beterbiev. Not to mention cruiserweight seems to be largely dominated by eastern euros and central asians, not to mention, just like heavyweight, cruiserweights make more money in europe.

Now, in other divisions, as more Brits, eastern euros and central asians start finding their footing and promoters start supplying the right amount of money, they too will start leaving the US and plying their trade in europe.

There's a massive talent pool from Eastern European countries coming up ... definitely here to stay in the coming decade, so sit back and enjoy.

They already took over all of the "full sized" divisions. But they have a very low birthrate so I don't think we will keep seeing an expotential increase in champions from there.

It just took a few years after the commies fell and pro boxing was legalized for them to learn all the dirty business strategies from the US and get their guys belts. But I think this is about the extent of it. They will stay dominant in middle thru heavyweight but not enough of them to "take over boxing".
