What's Team Golovkin's Offer to Jacobs?

    Here are the facts:

    - Daniel Jacobs himself is open to fighting GGG for the right $$$.

    - Jacobs trainer has said 3-5 mil is reasonable for a fight

From a lot of posters on this site, I've heard Jacobs offer is unreasonable, so my question is why hasn't anyone from Golovkin's team come forward also saying these numbers are unreasonable? In fact, I really haven't heard much from Golovkin's team on a potential fight with Jacobs.

I understand that Jacobs is a Showtime fighter and GGG is an HBO fighter, but GGG is promoted by K2 who have a good relationship with Haymon so it's negotiable. Anything in business is negotiable.

If I'm being honest, it seems Team GGG aren't really that eager to fight Jacobs. Someone with such a questionable chin and given GGG's power, they should be all over this fight, no?

    6 million?
But seriously they would probably have to split 3M as that is the most hbo offers for a non ppv fight
Jacobs v gg does Atleast 300k ppv in my opinion

Sure, but we haven't even gotten that far. Team GGG has made zero counter offers to the interviews given by Team Jacobs. No negotiations initiated whatsoever.

All this after Jacobs, subjectively, is coming off the biggest win at MW out of the two with his 1 round TKO over Quillin.

Jacobs has been down twice in 31 fights and is labeled as having a questionable chin. This fight should be easy pickings for Team GGG with GGG's power. But no, people are acting like Jacobs doesn't even exist and are talking about BJS, Hieland and Taureno Johnson.

If GGG has been the recognized champion for the last 3 years, him not fighting T. Johnson shouldn't change that.

Ok I get you, your point is that GGG is ducking Jacobs? come on.

You can't ask for 3-5 millions as if you were a superstar. He deserves something between 1-2 millions and consider himself lucky.

And if that's the case then why hasn't Team GGG offered him that much? Maybe they can negotiate $$$ on the back end. I'm no business man and don't pretend or proclaim to be. All I know is Jacobs is open for the match and his team threw some numbers out there. In response, I hear nothing, zilch, zero. No negotiation attempts from Golovkin.

It's as if Jacobs isn't the #2 guy in the division not counting Canelo.

3-5m for Jacobs? Dude couldn't fill half the arena in his own hometown with Quillin. That fight drew no fans to the arena and only avg about 300k viewers on showtime. He made 1.5mil for a fight that underperformed badly and now wants more then double that when the numbers I posted show he can't bring fans to the arena or TV screens. He is basically pricing himself out the fight.

That's the whole purpose of "negotiations". One team goes high, the other goes low. They just offered BJS really good numbers as they put it.

So what's Team Golovkin's counter offer to make the Jacobs fight?

The only reason nobody mentions Jacobs as a legit option for GGG next fight is simple he is signed with Haymon and he doesn't let his guys fight on HBO. Because of those political reasons and Jacobs pricing himself out the fight has zero chance of happening.

GGG's contract is essentially up with HBO so he can also do a one fight deal with Showtime. Everything in business is negotiable. Everything. Haymon and K2 have no issues with each other doing business. Haymon's only issue is with Arum and maybe De La Hoya who aren't even players here. Also, HBO is under new management so that's also a possibility.

Either way, there's been zero dialogue from Team Golovkin on this possible fight. I don't think they want it, honestly.

He'd be lucky to get 3-5m fighting Canelo, no way he can get that kinda cheddar fighting Golovkin.
