^ See both Granados and the WBA like that idea
Honestly I haven't heard too much of Adrian Granados, but that's exactly what I'm saying: Herrera would benefit from less dangerous fights right now. Granados is ranked top ten by at least two belts, so it's still a good match for both. And definitely less dangerous than fighting Ruslan.

I think Herrera is being used as a way for Ruslan to step up to bigger fights, since Ruslan is the kind of fighter TV networks like. Remember, too, that Ruslan is now training with Joel Diaz, so Herrera won't be fighting the same
Ruslan. Even Joel Diaz said that want to avenge that first loss to move on to bigger fights.

I personally told Herrera he should rack up some easy wins first before chasing big names; that's also an option for him too. He needs to get rid of the idea that he's getting robbed all the time. He himself needs to believe he can win without relying on judges. That's a big problem for him.

We'll see what happens in 2016.
So fans complain when a guy stays fighting useless bums and now you complain because a top jr welterweight actually wants to fight other top jr welterweights rather then fight bums to inflate his record? Plus Herrera ain't no spring chicken he's 35 and will turn 36 before summer time. He doesn't need more fights to improve his game, hes getting up in age doesnt have time to waste. People are too use to PBC crap where guys fight 5 meaningless mismatches before they step up and fight 1 guy who's good. This is a good fight that fans want to see and there is no reason we should have to wait a year or 2 before we see it.

Herrera's name isn't exactly springing up on others fighters Christmas list. So my point is that Mauricio fight other top contenders - not bums. Be specific in what you interpret.

You said rack up easy wins so then what did you mean? and Ruslan is the lowest top contender on the 3 list names he mentioned and the easiest of the 3 fights. Crawford, Postol, Broner are the belt holders. Matthysee is on the top half of the top 10 rankings. Ruslan is on most people's bottom half of the top 10 rankings. So if none of these guys who is he going to fight that is easy but not a bum and still a top contender? And again. He's pushing 36 he don't need a tune up fight he's at his peak now there is nothing he needs to work on any more wasted fights and years and he will be declining. A "easy" couple fights will not help him beat any of the top guys at 140 if he pushes it off till next year. Herrera needs to jump on the biggest fights he can get now and he has a better shot winning those fights now then a year or 2 later when he's older.

              what I meant...

anyone in the top ten rankings would do...but Ruslan is a waste if a fight in my opinion. it's too risky and its a fans fight for sure, but it'll do nothing to help Herrera move on to bigger fights because he already beat Ruslan once.

Again who? He was offered 3 guys one the best fighter in the division who is on everyone's top jr welterweight list and is even on top 10 p4p lists, matthysee who is in the top half of top 10 rankings and Ruslan who is in the bottom half of top 10 rankings. He took the least dangerous fight in a guy who is in the bottom half of top 10 rankings if not him then who should he fight? He makes way more money fighting Ruslan then any body else lower or not in top 10 rankings. And a win over Ruslan puts him in line for a title shot. Again he took the easiest fight of the 3 against a lower level top 10 guy so what's the beef? If it's not Ruslan it would be a bum for probably half the pay and might not get picked up by HBO. He's too old too waste any fights. Most of the lower ranked guys are young kids who's promoters wouldn't even want to put them in the ring with Herrera out of fear he will make them look bad. For example one such name is benevidez who everyone knows already lost to Herrera and he wants no part of a rematch.

Vargas is fighting at 147 now and Peterson is with haymon will not fight on HBO or against golden boy fighters. And you afraid for the abuse Herrera will take vs Ruslan but want him to fight the heavier handed and better matthysee? One post you say he should take a easier fight but now you want him to fight matthysee which is a harder fight and why Herrera is trying to pass on that for the easier Ruslan fight.

if he's gonna get his head beat in, I'd rather it happen with matthysse which Herrera hasn't fought.
