I see a Porter win via close decision. Thurman needs room to get his shots off and is very uncomfortable when pressured and if Collazo and Guerrero could back him up, Porter will force him to the ropes and work him over. The way Thurman excels is he needs breathing room, in the ring center, and a slower footed fighter to get his shots off. He wont get that against Porter. Thurman would have to land the one shot because he has a snowballs chance in Waikiki of outworking Porter and I don't see Thurman getting the distance to set up his shots.
It's a big ask of Porter to close Thurman down for 12 rounds.Comment

Hedge your bets why not? Porter will get tagged. Thurman will too. Probably come down to who has the better chin as Thurman is not out running Porter all night and Porter is not out hustling Thurman all night. More I think about it I'm seeing at least 2 KDs.Comment

But Thurman relies more on his right hand and needs distance for that punch where as Broner only landed that one hook inside, a punch I don't see as a great punch for Thurman, let alone landing it while his back is against the ropes.Comment

I was hoping this would be on Spike (Thurman hadn't fought on Spike yet and I like that channel for combat sports) but anyway, I'm glad it's official now.Comment

I take some comfort in that these same people would probably think HBO boxing going from a entity that was only showing 1-5 fights a year for nearly its first decade to what it is now as impossible & would have been negative towards HBO back in the day to. There are a lot of shortsighted & horribly biased boxing fans out there that just hate anything new, but they are also lazy & conformist enough to support those same things they hated once a certain threshold of popularity is reached + just f#cking love boxing & are gonna watch boxing on TV regardless so those fans hold little importance to anyone making money in boxing.Comment
