This is probably the most confusing thing i ever hear when it comes to boxing fans, and in particular Floyd fans?

Your idea is only just about kind of valid if you are trying to protect a zero. But when you are trying to achieve greatness and do things people don't think you can, it is the norm to sacrifice advantages. Its been done throughout boxing history. Why is Floyd exempt from it? Don't say hes given advantages before rubbish! He was at a little disadvantage against canelo but then tries to get it back with a CW. And Canelo was just a kid and green as a forest. DLH was nothing special at 154. And its rare however you look at it.

Why cant Floyd on a rare occasion give advantages? Why? Why? I have to ask why so many times, because nobody ever gives a satisfactory answer! Did Duran have any advantages against Hagler? Did RJJ have any advantages against Ruiz? Ive never heard a Duran fan ask why Duran should give advantages to Hagler, or a RJJ fan ask why he should give advantages to Ruiz! Why is it only Floyd fans?
When you want to achieve greatness you have to give advantages. When you want to be TBE you have to be at a disadvantage. Floyd should ask to fight GGG in a phonebox or 10 foot ring. Give as many advantages away as you can and then still beat him. That's how you achieve the kind of greatness Floyd wants.

I respect where you're coming and agree, Mayweather should't have every advantage. But boxing isn't a game and by giving away every single advantage against GGG, Mayweather would literally be ******** with his life! Don't you think fighters should at be on even ground in certain categories? When one fighter is grossly overmatched many consider the bout a mismatch, why would Mayweather vs GGG at 160lbs be any different? Mayweather reached his ceiling at 154lbs which is why he only truly fought there 2 times in his career.

Besides, your Duran and RJJ examples only prove that boxing fans have short memories. As great as their respective accomplishments are / were, not many consider Duran or RJJ to be the best ever......

        • People really hear what they want. Floyd said at "his weight", GGG would be an easy fight for him basically meaning if all things were equal as far as size etc. Floyd is about to be 39 years old and people are still looking to keep him fighting in hopes of him eventually taking an L. Let's just move on...

          • For those saying GGG doesn't have a "name", beating Canelo (should that happen) would help change that. Furthermore, as soon as he vs Mayweather was signed, the hype videos surrounding the fight would make GGG more known to the public and when people saw that he was undefeated with a ****-ton of knockouts, people would start becoming interested in the hopes/possibility that he might be able to knock out Floyd.
