TBH, it does sound way too high.

If Saunders had said 3mil, or even 4mil, then maaaaybe..... not sure.

    It doesn't really matter.

The point is this..... they found tonnes of money lying around to make Saunders a more-than-decent offer, despite him being a completely unknown Brit..... simply because they know they can beat him..... and yet they couldn't find a nickle for Ward/Lara

Golovkin is the very epitome of the term " manufactured fighter ".

They will always come up with an excuse to avoid fighting the real ones.

Fk the protected network darlings, I prefer real fighters.

So Golovkin is ducking Lara and Ward again. You do realize that Saunders has a BELT and that GGG wants to UNIFY, right?

Lara and Ward offer nothing to him at the MIDDLEWEIGHT division.

Besides, if he beat Lara, which he would most likely do, you people would just ***** that he dragged up a 154 pound fighter.

If Jacobs had a belt that mattered then you can use him to push your agenda but he doesn't. Saunders does, end of story.

          What contradictions?
If the $6mill is legit, we still don't know exactly where it's coming from and why. It could be HBO amped up their investment to help market the Golovkin/Alvarez fight or it could be a private sponsor. Golovkin does multi-million ratings in Russia for all of his fights, $6mill isn't much money to some of those tycoons. In other words, that money might be circumstantial and not previously available.

Saunders has the 4th title which Golovkin badly wants, and was in a position to avoid Golovkin for as long as he liked. There's no one else in a negotiating position like that relative to Golovkin.

Jacobs is Golovkin's eventual mandatory with no title to offer. If it goes to purse bid, Golovkin takes 70% of the purse, so Danny needs to negotiate for a better deal or vacate. Danny might want $3-5million, but he doesn't command it. He lacks the leverage and with Golovkin owning all the belts he has no where else to go.

The contradictions are if the 6 mil is there for BJS, the 3-5 mil is there for Jacobs and those same people that were accusing Jacobs of pricing himself out would be wrong. Those same private sponsors you speak of can also privately sponsor Jacobs-GGG for less money. BTW, what's your background? Are you a boxing promoter, financial advisor or manager? I'm not. I just don't like when folks try to talk business all the while having zero insight on negotiations. Being that BJS has no reason to lie, until I hear otherwise from Team Golovkin, I have to take his numbers into consideration/truth.

As a fan, my interest isn't in belts. My interest is seeing the best available fighters fighting the best available opponents. If we're being honest, Saunders poses the least risk for GGG out of Jacobs/BJS. BJS has 12 KO's and offers zero resistance of keeping GGG off him. To add to the matter, BJS is already on record telling GGG to fuc off and needs at least 18 months in preparation for GGG.

Why are you guys saying Jacobs has no belt to offer? He does. Not only does he have an honored belt, but he also has defended his belt against the top 160 lb'er available not named GGG or Jacobs in Quillin. GGG has been called a fraud by mainstream boxing fans because of his lackluster resume. He's defeated 3 champions in Kasim Ouma, Daniel Geale and D. Lemieux so I don't get why people say Jacobs "needs to take 70-30" when negotiating with GGG? No, GGG needs a worthy opponent outside of Canelo. GGG-Jacobs need each other. GGG isn't a guaranteed financial seller at the box office either only doing 97k PPV. He's a high risk - Low reward fighter. No one needs him or owes him anything like no one need E. Lara.

Don't get me wrong, going off the eye-test, GGG looks like a stellar, extraordinary, exceptional fighter. The problem with that is he has yet to face someone that hits as hard as he and can box better than he. Out of 31 fights, Jacobs has been down twice so some can say he has a questionable chin. But, he boxes better than GGG, is faster and has equal power to GGG if not more explosive.

It's an intriguing matchup and Jacobs deserves a shot and should be the guy Team Golovkin are negotiating with if not Canelo Alvarez.

Other than that, I don't want to hear about belts, Billy Joe Saunders, Taureno Johnson or Zach Price whoever the *** that is.

Previously K2 didn't have that kind of money behind them, I mean why would they? Where is it coming from? Saunders' is the current top priority because of the WBO belt (the belt Quillin vacated). Jacobs holds the WBA belt, that is an interim version of the WBA belt Golovkin already holds - that's not a unification fight, it's a mandatory defense. The 70/30 split is what the purse split would be for Golovkin/Jacobs, as Jacobs is Golovkin's mandatory for the WBA title. If Jacobs doesn't want to go to a purse bid, he and Golovkin need to come to an agreement.

Saunders is a good fighter with a high boxing pedigree. Good instincts, good footwork, fast hands - but yeah he lacks the power to keep Golovkin off him. I'm with you, I prefer Golovkin/Jacobs because of Jacobs' speed & power, but Saunders has the WBO.

If Saunders turns down the Golovkin fight, Loeffler said their making Jacobs an offer next, lets see what they offer and if it's enough to get Jacobs, and hopefully it is. I still hold out hope that we'll see Golovkin/Jacobs this year, especially if Alvarez passes on the GGG fight.

Fair enough. Let's see. I'm really eager to see their offer.

If BJS manages to blag 6 mil for this fight, he's a true gypsy!
