  • Do YOU consider any PBC fighter to be top 10 p4p?

    If so who and why?

After watching The Fight Game on HBO, I heard Lampley and BHop comment on how there are no PBC fighters ranked in the top 10. So I went on The Ring website and a couple various other boxing websites and realized that no one is ranking any PBC boxer in the top 10. I understand HBO and Ring Magazine are bias but other publications like Espn and a couple of other smaller sports websites dont have any PBC in their top ten either. Why do you think that is?

I actually do have Garcia in my top 10.

Who has a better resume than he does at 140? He beat Khan, Matthysse and Peterson (technically at WW since it was a CW). That alone is grounds for P4P, however since most organizations are biased against Haymon/PBC, they refuse to acknowledge Garcia's P4P status. They'll never forgive him for the Salka fight. It's almost as if Salka is on their minds more than the boogeyman Matthysse who Garcia steamrolled.

Most likely because they are not being matched up in tough fights that truly determine their worth on the scale of a PFP ranking. They may have a few competitive fights sprinkled here and there, but none really among their top talents and most recognizable names.

        Danny Garcia.

The pound for pound list, like the sport, is in flux right now.

I think Garcia's resume is extremely strong, however, he hasn't been looking all too great as of late. He has had some shaky performances since his Lucas win, including a controversial decision over Herrera, a close fight with Peterson and a joke of a fight against Rod Salka. Also, he moved to welterweight so his resume at 140 doesnt provide much ground to stand on, especially since his biggest win was followed up by mediocre performances as I have previously mentioned.

We'll see what he's up against when he fights Guerrero next month. I think he looked great against Paulie. That was his first fight at the full WW limit if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not sure most p4p lists resume into consideration. If it did neither GGG or Gonzalez would be on the list. If resumes were taken into consideration Bradley would be top 3 p4p

I'm also fairly certain the winner of Porter-Thurman will go up in the top 10 as well.

Crap, I forgot all about that fight . I wouldn't put too much stock into Guerrero nor a win over him at this point, but it's still a decent fight. I really hope to see Garcia in there against some of the stronger PBC names, I'm sure the PBC brand can provide its fair share of PFP names, it's all a matter of matchmakimg.

You're kidding on the Gonzalez swipe, right? Roman has arguably one of the best resumes in all of boxing as it stands. Has he been on a series of lackluster fights as of late? Sure.. Especially since his move to flyweight, but he has an extremely deep resume and is in his prime.
