    Why is everyone overlooking Mayorga

Everyone is talking about Oscar vs Floyd.

I don't have actual statistics, but almost everything I hear people talking about someone's next fight the current fight ends in upset, Tyson-Holyfied, Zab-Floyd, and many more. Mayorga is dangerous, yes I am a fan, but not a nuthugger. Mayorga has wanted this fight since 2002. Fans who have followed Mayorga know this. This is his dream fight. Not a fight he will take lighty.

People talk about the Spinks loss. It was only by points and if Mayorga didn't have 2 points deducted he would have won.

People talk about the Trinidad fight. That was the worst I'd seen Mayorga fight. He didnt take that fight seriously and he paid for it.

De la hoya has the advantage at fighting at @154 as Ricardo only has one fight at jr middle (and yet has a belt at 154 Don King anyone?)

I think Ricardo has more motivation to win this fight and I think that will be the deciding factor. We all know Ricardo has one of the best chins right now and has alot of heart. Even haters have to wonder how he was still getting up in the Trinidad fight and didnt even want to stop the fight.

I like Mayorga. He's got a lotta heart. When he fought Trinidad I wondered how he was getting up too but he was showing signs of a diminished confidence. Oscar won't knock him out but he's not gonna knock Oscar out either unless he throws one of his famous hay makers and hits him. Mayorga can crack but he can't box but he can entertain. Oscar can box and has good power in later rounds. Oscar will most likely get the decision if he can avoid a not-so lucky punch from Mayorga.

Mayorga is definitely capable of pulling an upset. Oscar, though a great fighter, is clearly past his best. He's not the same fighter he used to be. He's lost the hunger. Already a fighter who fades late in fights, Oscar De La Hoya will be going on 17 months of inactivity from Boxing when this fight takes place. Why would he make a comeback against a guy like Mayorga, whom you have to fight every second of every round?

Mayorga has a granite chin, and this fight will not be at 160lbs where Mayorga was clearly out of his element. Also, it took Tito 8 rounds of punishment to stop this guy, but he was stopped from body shots. Oscar can't hurt this guy, and if The Matador trains for this fight the way he trained for Vernon Forrest or Andrew Lewis, it could be over for The Golden Boy.

I know Mayorga is dangerous but I doubt he can beat DLH because DLH has a great chin and is a far better boxer than Mayorga.Against most I would give Mayorga a punchers chance even if he was not as skillful but not against DLH.I mean there is always the possbility that DLH has been off too long or does not have the will he used to or both but I doubt that and think he will treat Mayorga in similar fashion as Tito did and win by TKO late.

DLH even at 50% is still 10x better than Cory Spinks...who outboxed Mayroga. I wouldn't exactly go by the 6 heads fight considering his chin was as glass as it gets or hell even the Forrest rematch which you can make a very good case Forrest won.

Mayroga has been living off that 1 punch for years now, When was the last time he actually went out there and beat a legit top notch guy?

                  Felix Sturm...Deal with it.

                  Also Shane Mosley.

2 of his last 3 fights.

Ok now now way in hell can you ***** about the Sturm fight saying he didn't deserve the desicion and not say he got robbed against Mosley.

This is a bad matchup for him. He is a wild brawler and DLH is a composed, expereinced boxer. Not only that, but oscar has a great chin, which only helps his case. Oscar takes this on points in my opinion.
