I have to see how Uchiyama does in his next fight before I have an opinion on this. As someone has mentioned the man is 36 years old. It's a shame that it took so long for a high profile fight.
From what I hear Takashi himself has been wanting to fight in the US however his manager (not promoter) has repeatedly made the decision for him to continue fighting domestically for financial reasons.

Javier Fortuna deserves that shot..he beat the nujmber 3 130lber to be in that position...he's the wba champ under uchiyama and i want the wba to enforce that walters needs to be in the ranks, but it is not his shot.

Walters is so overrated. So he stopped a completely shot Darch and a fat, non commited Donaire. I don't get the hype at all.

Walters is a little over rated by HBO because they are in the Axe Man business. Just look at the last fight, as commentators ignored all of the good work that Sosa did. Hardly acknowledging anything. Even getting to a point where they would state things like "Walters looks like the harder puncher." as Sosa tee'd off on him, backed him up, or made him be overly defensive, to try and subliminally lead the viewer into the HBO viewpoint, that Sosa was getting vastly outclassed, and doing nothing. I mean, Kellerman, and Lampley aren't in there taking the punches. How the **** do they know who is the harder puncher? Sosa has a bunch of KO's as well, and was the more natural 130 pounder. Walters wasn't overly defensive for no reason. He was overly defensive because he was getting tagged, by somebody with decent power.
