Comments Thread For: Arum Has Big Plans For Walters, Beginning With Uchiyama

The working theory heading into his HBO-televised showdown with Jason Sosa was that Nicholas Walters merely needed to win in order to proceed with the next order of business. The unbeaten former featherweight titlist was being groomed for a showdown with long-reigning super featherweight titlist Takashi Uchiyama, providing both emerged victorious in their next bouts.

Great to hear that BS Decision is not going to slow him down. Somebody also need to tell Lampley to shut the *** up about Knockouts when calling a Walters match.

Nobody is going to just LET Walters knock them out. After Taking Darchinian and Donaire heads off with nasty uppercuts, from here on out the people who fight him will be cautions about his Power when the fight him. Sick of people dumbing down the sport of boxing, boxing is more that ***ing knockouts. I enjoyed watching Walters do work on the inside, he did not fight off of his backfoot, he stayed in the pocket, yeah he took some good shots but he dished out way more bigger shots especially to the body

Walters is the Real Deal, not sure how people take his last 2 Fights and turn them into a negative when he dominated both of those fights

Guess it's time for Walters to run away and sign with Haymon then

Uchiyama will obviously need to stay on his toes. He's a great boxer, but he's also 36 years old.

              Plenty of Options for Walters

Walters is in a very fortunate position right now to land plenty of significant fight in 2016. He can drop down to fight Loma in probably the best featherweight matchup in years.

He also has options to fight Uchiyama and Vargas.

All these fights would be great and very fan friendly.

Walters had a so so 2015 after a dynamic 2014. I am hoping he has a big bounce back year in 2016.

Walters better be on his Ps and Qs. He didn't look all that against Sosa. Regardless of HBO's crew slobbing him down round after round, and ignoring all of Sosa's work.

We don't even know if Walters is still signed to Top Rank. The last we heard it was his last fight with Top Rank and Walters' people wouldn't even answer the question if he's still signed or not. I'll wait to hear from Walters people before I believe Bob.

That's a toughass fight. More than likely it'll land on HBO
