Comments Thread For: Stephen Smith: I Won't Go To Puerto Rico To Face Pedraza

Stephen Smith has insisted that he will not be travelling to Puerto Rico for his world title challenge in the New Year.

The Liverpool super featherweight, who is the mandatory challenger to IBF champion José Pedraza (21-0, 12 KOs), is safe in the knowledge that his next fight is going to be for global honours.

Cherry couldn't get a deserved decision in Ohio. No way this dude gets the nod in Pedeaza's back yard.

The Garcia-Herrera robbery must be lingering in his mind

I can picture this guy watching the fight just recently on YT

His mouth wide open after the results are announced, then he trembles with disgust

he immediately phones his trainer and angrily says to him: ¨I just watched Garcia-Herrera, haven't watched it before, I heard this was a robbery but it's even worse than I thought, how the **** can you totally school someone and still lose on points?! **** this, tell Pedraza's people that i'm NOT gonna travel to Puerto Rico to get robbed, because that's what they're gonna do to me, ROB ME, I'll need a KO to get a ****ing draw there!!¨

Then he trainers thinks to himself : ¨how do I tell this guy, educatedly, that he's a nobody and has zero leverage to make demands?¨

Do you see what I'm saying? Some people think they are too good, better than other people. Stephen will win any old title back in the UK, brag and boast about it, but as long as the IBF title belongs to a PR, it's not worth going after. No island titles, no banana republic title, no third world title at all if he has to go there.

I guess he thinks US is neutral ground or something ridiculous like that.

Ask Cherry how neutral it was.
