I think it was in bad taste to make a political event of it, but generally speaking, there's nothing wrong with going to Yasukuni Jinja. It is actually quite an interesting place.

Also, Yasukuni Jinja really is a very interesting place.

I'm not stating that it is (or isn't) tasteful.

It is interesting to visit though.

They have a WW2 museum, it has many interesting artifacts.

It is indeed an interesting place. If you ever come to Tokyo, I recommend visiting.

They have airplanes also. That was one of the most fun things to see. The WW2 Japanese airplanes.
