Why is 155 or 160 an issue if there is no same day weigh in?

    Oh deary deary me!

You must really have been surprised when Mayweather didn't win his last few fights with monster knockouts as promised. Or that the real, young Roy Jones Jr didn't reappear all of a sudden in his last fight. It must be shocking to suspect that Antonio Tarver couldn't beat Klitschko and Fury in the same night.

I am led to understand that Shannon Briggs is a top heavyweight contender who is being ducked by the whole division in some sort of fearful conspiracy by all the terrified professional fighters. It's surely nothing to do with his age, irrelevance and mediocre boxing record that he is just being ignored.

    I'd continue but you're an idiot so I won't.

You got a link to Golovkin saying this?

Since maybe a year or two ago I've only seen Golovkin say "154 only for Mayweather, 168 for big PPV fight."

Never heard an "easy" or "healthy".

          This is the correct answer.

Canelo just wants an advantage, a fairly significant one. He always tries to get an advantage. Why on earth has he fought his last four fights at a made up weight class of 155 pounds? Because he doesn't want to lose that extra pound, which is obviously a struggle for him or else he would simply fight at 154. With Canelo, he feels he's bigger than boxing and can just say screw weight classes, I'll fight in a division only for me and if anyone wants to fight me you have to come here or no fight. That's the definition of prima donna.

Same day or not they still have to make the contracted weight so it's still an issue sometimes.

Young MMA fighter die from cutting weighthttp://www.mmafighting.com/2015/12/1...weight-cutting

Yang Jian Bing was set to compete at ONE Championship 35 against Geje Eustaquio in a flyweight contest before that bout was cancelled on Thursday. ONE Championship noted via release following the weigh-ins that bout had been cancelled "due to Yang's severe dehydration from attempting to make weight. Yang Jian Bing has suffered from dehydration and suspected heat stroke. He has been transported to the hospital where he is undergoing intensive rehydration treatment."

The news took a turn for the worse on Friday when Bing, 21, ultimately died from the complications of his weight cut.

Weight cuts are a common part of the process of fight preparation, but carry significant health risks. Fighters of all amateur and professional levels have experienced complications from botched weight cuts, some of which have paid the price with their life.

The particular circumstances and specific causes of what caused Bing's death have not yet been determined. Bing was a three-time veteran of ONE Championship and held a 5-1-1 professional MMA record.
THis is what canelo want from little G

The difference comes in when he is telling another middleweight champion what THEY can weigh. Canelo is the WBC middleweight and lineal champion. That division spans from 154.1 to 160.0 It does NOT span from 154.1 to 155.0, which is what Canelo is trying to impose.

This is the evolution of the DLH-Hops, and Floyd and Pac era catchweights. Can you even imagine how far the next group of fighters is going to take it? The sport is fast becoming a joke, and bears little resemblance to the sport I fell in love with 40 years ago......
At least Floyd and Manny were always smaller guys coming in to the catch weight (minus FM vs JMM)

Canelo is a fking middleweight killing himself to make 155 then blowing up to 173 on fight night and having a advantage in size on every fighter he fights.

If they don't do a weight around 157 in September then Canelo is a straight Bi$$$
