Situations like this rarely lead a fighter to becoming a legit contender at his age. On the flip side, he has not been fighting all this time so this could buy him a little more time at his age, but his best bet is to go on a liquid diet of opponents, the kinds that Shannon Briggs seems to dig up out of nowhere. If he is really serious and gets in top shape, he could get to the point of being a ranked contender, though it is doubtful but he would, and if he did, would get knocked off by some contender. I doubt he could beat a contender. Ike from long ago could wreck havoc today but that was then and this is now and time does not stand still for the human body.Comment

He is too old at 43 but these days lots of very old guys are still fighting. It will be interesting to see what he has left. He would be a hell of a lot tougher than anyone Briggs has fought in years. In fact he is way too tough to qualify as a Briggs opponent.Comment
