Comments Thread For: Crolla's Coach: We Can Beat Barroso, Saw A lot of Flaws
WBA lightweight champion Anthony Crolla (30-4-3, 12KOs) is already getting mentally prepared for his first title defense in the first few months of 2016.
I saw a lot of errors too, but not all the time. His hooks are wide and he lunges on offense, but by then Mitch.... the other guy was in full retreat. Center ring, jab, straight right, not so many mistakes. Crolla is not planning to slug it out, but nobody plans to get KO'd either.
Crolla's a good fighter, works behind the jab and has a good variety of punches even though he may be lacking the power department. Crolla reminds me of Jamie McDonnell in terms of how compact they are and don't get caught with many punches.
I'd probably back Barroso to win but definitely put some money on Crolla, if the fight is made I hope the odds are good. I made good money off Barroso stopping Mitchell, I think it was 5/1? Possibly more.
