Than i hope this fight happens!!! It would be a shame if no agreement came into place regarding the weight matter! I mean 155-160 ***** flip a coin canelo wins 157, GGG wins 160... Lol that would be something! But for REAL STOP BS! MAKE THIS FIGHT HAPPEN!!!!

And Golovkin is overhyped at the moment. There's no question. The sheer quantity of Golovkin related content and coverage is insane. On NSB alone there tends to be 5-6 Golovkin threads on the first page at any given time.

He's obviously very good, but relative to other good fighters in the sport the amount of coverage he gets (from fans and media) is off the charts.
I wouldn't consider 5 out 6 hate threads as evidence of GGG hype. Honestly he's hyped about right. He's considered the best MW and a top P4P Fighter. Some may argue his P4P ranking (which is debatable) and a select few say he's not the best MW (he is) but his only a hot topic because posters won't stop trying so hard to discredit him. I swear some of them are paid to do so.

What's the benefit of having rules if they are always to be broken without consequence?

Those clowns are contributing to the hype whether they realise it or not. Fighters with no buzz about them don't generate multiple hate threads on a daily basis.

But in the broader sense there is vastly more coverage of him than there is of, say, Sergey Kovalev, Roman Gonzalez, Terence Crawford, or Tim Bradley. Granted the KO factor comes into it but it's clear he has much more hype around him than most other fighters in the sport.

Honestly the only person who can talk smack about GGG is Andre Ward. Canelo and his people need to sit down.

              Very little if any.

The sport would be greatly enhanced, imo, were the sanctioning bodies to downsize, diminish the number of belts and then pursue a strategy of exclusivity; gradually increase the sanctioning fee on a diminishing supply of titles. Maybe the wealthiest sanctioning body could buy out one or two of the weaker ones to further enhance their brand.

Then maybe they'd have some teeth.

How can Canelo have a belt at MW and never have fought there? How can he keep the belt and refuse to defend the belt by fighting in its division?

This is an absolute mockery. It makes the whole sport look bad. It makes belts and records more meaningless. This is ruining the history and integrity of the very sport! Canelo is a disgrace!

                    That is because....

                    1) Canelo is not a middleweight

                    2) Canelo has never fought a middleweight opponent

                    ..... you dumb ****.

                      Agreed.

He is currently the best middleweight.

He is not great, he has not proven that he is elite, and he cannot beat Ward.

Also..... it is unlikely that he will trouble the historians too much.
