Headgear don't protect that body though. And Kovalev wasn't 'dropped' he took a knee to get his breath back after a nasty bodyshot. It's sparring, why wouldn't he?

I'm strictly going off of what Sanchez is saying, and he said Kov got dropped.

Sanchez also confirmed with Bayloric TV, “Golovkin did drop Kovalev [in sparring].”

Kovalevs spoken about the matter - it's been mentioned in a few of the other posts. He was fresh back from holiday whereas GGG was in fighting trim. Bodyshot made Kov take a knee.

It's details like this which makes me take all sparring stories with a pinch of salt. And speaking of salt my su****ion is also that Sanchez is still a lil bitter about Kovalev leaving him and then going on to achieve (to date) greater success than Golovkin.

It is clear to see why Ward ducked GGG for Kovalev.

          I am kidding! maybe...

So GGG should have no problem moving up and fighting the winner then right

I would believe that GGG might have hurt Kovalev with a body shot. It’s boxing, it’s sparring, it of course can happen.

I do not believe for a second that Kovalev is afraid of GGG. First of all they are friends, and second, Kovalev stepped in against and beat stronger and bigger men than GGG.

Lol GGG was scared of Ward at 168 only 164 lol, he seeks challenges 4lbs above his career weight what an ATG

So now a sparring means he beats Kovalev lol
