I would fight literally anybody safe in the knowledge that as long as i go 12 rounds, i'm getting the win, no matter what actually happened in the fight.

This thread is about whether he will fight who boxing fans want him to fight.
He has fought less than stellar competition lately and when he has raised the level a notch as with Herrera and Peterson he has looked less than stellar himself.
He keeps coming out and making noise so he is bound to get criticized if he doesn't step up. He says "I want to make my family proud and be the best person I can be."
I say he has his identity based on money. The more money he makes the prouder his family will be and in his own eyes he will be a better person.
PBC is corrupting fighter's with paying over the market. Of all the name PBC fighters only Porter seems to be showing a warrior attitude at this time.
Garcia doesn't have the same attitude he had 3 years ago - ask yourself why that is.

Without his obnoxious father, Garcia would be just a very ordinary individual in the boxing world. It has been Angel's mouth the biggest asset of 'gift' followed by some people in the media plus many Philly/Ricans fans who are more than satisfied with him fighting opposition such as Salka, Malignaggi, Guerrero, etc. It is sad to see that after the most important victory in his career (Mathysse), Garcia has just lived on pretending (he pretended to continue being a welter junior and also pretended to be the undisputed champion of that division). And now he is pretending to be a feared force in the welter division. That is why to be a better pretender, he is constantly looking for the easiest route to become a pretending WW champion.

Both Peterson and Herrera would love to face him at 147.....take away Garcia's hook and he's an ordinary fighter this much we've seen already. We know Guerrero is unlikely to take it away from him and will try to be macho in eating those punches so we'll wait for the next opponent I guess.

Garcia might want to fight anybody at 147 but Haymon is going to direct his career. While he can make money fighting 2nd and 3rd tier fighters they will continue to do so if their is profit.
It is time for Garcia if he beats Guerrero to get in their with top WWs.
He is the most successful ordinary fighter out there and that rubs ppl the wrong way
