I understand why people support their own in terms of nationality (I do it), but race? Nah, it should be a non factor.

If you want to support your own it's your choice, the problem is that posters who support their own often twist facts to defend guys of their race/nationality ducking people, overrate their wins, underrate the rest of the division to build up their own guy etc. and then try to claim that they're unbiased, reasonable and worth discussing the sport with.
