Comments Thread For: Bermane Stiverne, Manager Camille Estephan Part Ways

Montreal: Dear fans after much thought and deliberation we have decided to part roots with Bermane Stiverne our first athlete and first world champion. At this juncture of things although we feel that Bermane is around the corner of big things in his career, we believe it best for all concerned to take this difficult decision. We believe that Bermane has the required skills to be on top of the now exciting heavy weight division.

Was it really Don? They had a business relationship via Stiverne for years. I think it is possible, but just as possible as something else. Someone else may want the Managerial slot of Stiverne.

Bermane Stiverne signing with Al Haymon
        June 20, 2015
By Tim Nielson: The recently beaten former WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-2-1, 21 KOs) is reportedly signing with adviser Al Haymon to have him guide his career. The 36-year-old Stiverne is expected to be back in the ring in July on Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions against an opponent still to be determined, according to Thaboxingvoice.

Stiverne is going to be with Al Haymon I bet. Probably a good move by both parties. It seems like Estephan and Don King had two different views on how to guide Bermane. Remember Eye of the Tiger wanted Bermane to fight Luis Ortiz earlier this year and that fell through.

Like I have said in the past if your with Don King officially unofficially you are with Al Haymon. This was bound to happen.

Thats why its gonna be hard for PBC to fail with their web of influence that goes well beyond King with guys to much deeper rosters. It doesn't seem to be widely noticed yet, but Haymon seems to sign the cream of the crop of his most used promoters.

And guys like Sampson Boxing, DiBella's & Warriors Boxing are high level judges of talent imo. Sampson Lewkowicz in particular is a great finder of talent & some of the best lesser known guys on Haymon's roster are probably Sampson boxing guys. I believe he was at least partially responsible for getting Pacquaio to the states where he become the superstar he became.

Your right. A lot of guys that aren't signed to Al Haymon are getting exposure through Haymon connections like the ones that you mentioned above. It will be interesting how 2016 goes for PBC. There was a mixed bag this year on how PBC/Showtime went, and how the Al Haymon signed boxers were used.

There is no question that Al Haymon has the talent. That's undeniable. But the question is what is the next step for PBC to close the gap on the UFC and get boxing to becoming the top combat sport option. Sky's the limit for PBC if they use what they have the right way.

But the lines in boxing were most for sure drawn in the sand this year. HBO thrived and PBC started out hot but tampered off as the year went.

Great. Now we are likely to see Bermane Stiverne vs Chris Arreola III. smh

Idk about any lines in the sand. And I disagree PBC tampered off. If anything PBC got things moving faster. They got 3-5+ shows popping off each month now. They are putting on the biggest fights in the game outside of HBO & they got prospects fighting each other every other week it seems like. The prospects that come thru PBC in a couple years unscathed are gonna be exceptional battle tested young talents & there will be PBC guys with a couple L's pulling off some high level upsets too I predict.

And really ratings & big fights & all the things people keep talking about aren't the game changing part of the plan. The game changing part of the plan appears to me to be getting boxers from HBO & other en****** flipping over to PBC. Thats what is gonna make PBC the NFL of boxing.

When you see guys **** measuring ratings between PBC & other PBC fights or HBO fights or whatever that don't really mean anything. When you hear about big name guys re-signing contracts with their promoters or HBO thats an L for PBC, when guys sign with Haymon or a PBC promoter thats a W.
