Sharing a quick highlight video on Jermell Charlo.
Wanted everybody's thoughts on these guys. Jermall has the IBF strap at the moment and Jermell is ranked number 1 for the WBC.
I see a few comments from people who say Jermall is the better of the two, but he has not fought the level of competition that Jermell has (even though he is the one with a paper belt).
They fight nothing like each other really.
Jermall is the more natural puncher as he sits down all his punches, he tends to operate down the middle most of the time with his jab and straight right. His jab is a weapon and always keeps it in your face and has knock dudes on their ass with just a jab. He has more of a killer instinct, if he hits a guy with a good shot he will follow up right away whereas Jermell will tend to step back and admire his work and continue moving around the ring.
Jermell overall in my opinion has the better overall skill, he has better defensive abilities in general with his head movement, bending at the waist and fighting on the backfoot and also his footwork. He likes to counter with his left hook and his jab is less of a weapon than his brothers and is used as more of a set up punch. He has slightly faster hands than his brother although neither have elite speed in my opinion. Although he has better defence he tends to go through periods of inactivity even while being chased down he is content to cover up, while Jermall will continue working the jab.
Jermall has the punching power to keep you off him, guys are more weary getting close to him and think twice before coming in. He is also more gifted physically as he has the longer reach and is the taller twin.
