Comments Thread For: Gavin McDonnell Vacates European Super Bantamweight Title

Gavin McDonnell (14-0-2, 4 KOs) has vacated his European super bantamweight tite.

The EBU (European Boxing Union) had called for purse bids, due for today (12pm Rome time) for McDonnell to defend his belt against British champion Jazza ****ens (21-1, 6 KOs).

McDonnell vacated his crown last week and is scheduled to return in February or March in a bigger fight on the world scene.

"If [Kell] Brook fights on February 20 it's going to be then in Sheffield if not it'll be early March," his promoter Eddie Hearn told BoxingScene.com today.

Kell Brook back in Feb 20 or March was far more intriguing to me in this article

Looks like Fast Car Eddie was scared Mack Daddy Mick Hennessy was going to sweep him again.

Whats wrong with having Mcdonnell vs ****ens on Brook undercard? seems like a legit fight for the British circuit.

I'm a fan of Jazza ****ens, him being a local lad and all.
I'm sure he would jump at the chance of fighting for the European title, Kiko Martinez would be a very tough opponent though.
