He's slightly more tolerable than Kellerman but sometimes he just loves the sound of his voice too much. And when he gets upset he can become very vitriolic without even realizing it.
Paulie can probably win the Euro belt. And he would be competitive against welterweights like Robert Guerrero and Andre Berto.
But I don't see him beating the top guys at 147 like Pacquiao, Thurman, Brook, and Porter. Tim Bradley would maybe be the one he could do decent against.
Some boxers are funny, especially the ex-champions who don't know when to quit. They get to a certain point in their careers when they start to feel their age, & can no longer compete with the younger, stronger, faster, hungrier fighters. So then they step down to fighters who are much beneath their class & get deluded that they still have it when they win. Then they gradually begin to move up in competition until they suffer more senseless beatings. Rinse & repeat. The smart ones realize it's time to hang it up, when they get beaten by fighters they know could never even have competed with them when they were in their prime. The not-so-smart ones keep getting whipped up on by bum after bum. Let's hope Paulie is one of the smart ones.
Boxing fans know what Paulie brings to the table. He's ok for maybe a fight or two with B level guys but fight any top welter and he's risking a serious beatdown.
why do people hate him so much? i dont get it, he fought tough opponents in his career and always came to win. he has no power but that's probably a product of the fact that he fought with major hand issues for years. floyd also started reducing his punching power when he kept injuring his hands.
all i know is that when people make fun of him for having no power, i point out that if that's the case then he definitely overachieved. so i can't hate on someone who is not supposed to be successful but still fought his way to having a career that only maybe 5% of boxers ever achieve.
