Comments Thread For: Golden Boy, HBO High On Luis Ortiz' Future

Verona, NY – You can’t blame the staff at Golden Boy Promotions for gushing at the sight of their fighters coming up big any given fight these days. It’s been an exhausting past couple of years as the California-based outfit continues to rebuild in hopes of reclaiming and maintaining its position as one of the leading promotional companies in boxing today.

Did Oscar say he was high on Ortiz or just high...or both?

Bounce Back Year For Golden Boy

This has been a roller coaster ride for Golden Boy. Losing about 20 to 30 major fighters to PBC and Al Haymon, most companies would have folded like a cheap tent. But Oscar, Bernard, and the Golden Boy staff found a way to make it work and give us fight fans fights we wanted to see.

They were riding high the first half of the year with Lucas and David Lemieux winning big time fights, but then they lost the second half, and fans started to right them off. But these last 2 months have gone there way with Canelo, Francisco Vargas, and Luis Ortiz making major statements to finish the year off.

These victories along with them creating Ring TV Live will launch them to hopefully big things as well in 2016.

Next year they need to continue to build fighters like Francisco Vargas, Luis Ortiz, Sadam Ali, and Jorge Linares as prime time main event fighters. Get Sadam Ali his title shot. Reestablish guys like Lemieux, Rosado, Herrera, and Matthysee as title contenders once again. These guys aren't done yet, but, they need to change things up and get back to the top as they once were.

Last the next generation of Golden Boy talent that need to make a move from prospect to title contender are Shabranskyy, Frankie Gomez, Jo Jo Diaz, etc....need to start fighting top competition and hopefully get a crack at a title by the end of the year.

Golden Boy rebounded, mended fences with HBO, and next year they need to do the same with Showtime. They have too much talent that isn't getting enough exposure, and Oscar needs to rebuild the bridge with Showtime.

Golden Boy isn't dead, they made a lot of smart decisions for the future of there company, and hopefully they can make 2016 just as good as 2015.

I'd be high off him too. He easily beats Fury and wilder. Joshua would definitely pose a challenge
