Can`t hold it against Billy Joe.
He barely got his way with Eubank Jr and Lee.
He is not ready for GGG, probably never will.
But he doesn`t pretend to be number 1 in the MW and is very real about the whole situation and his place. There is nothing bad about it.

The "financials" are certainly a problem. Sounds familiar....

I think Saunders is a likeable guy. He is straight talking and backs up his words with skill. Might not be the biggest puncher but I enjoy watching him.
I don't see what's wrong with knowing where you are at. He is in the sport for money and knows he has the skill to beat most.

In the modern age of boxing, we can all pretty much decide via consensus who the champions are and who the challengers are, BJS, Lee, Jacobs, Quillin, Jr, they're all contenders and GGG is the champ. Same at heavyweight and so on.

BJS should have the big money Jr rematch. I'd watch that.

Exactly, I prefer some straight talk over the Wilder style of ill beat everyone then fight a nobody.

I guess he's honest but it's all sad that these guys fighting for "world" titles aren't even bothered about being considered the best. If this type of talk was prevalent in any other sport, the athlete would be laughed out of the competition.

If BJS doesn't think he's good enough, vacate the title and carry on fighting on boxnation versus nobodies.

I have no doubt BJS would fight him. I just think he knows he is unlikely to win. Better thank Eubank Jr. claiming he'd be GGG!!
I think it does happen in other sports when you get people who are clearly a level above...it's just not perceived as cowardly. Which I hasten to add I don't think BJS is.
