Comments Thread For: Andy Lee Explains Booth Building on Steward's Foundation

ANDY LEE reckons Adam Booth was the perfect man to put the finishing touches on legendary trainer Manny Steward’s work.

The Irishman puts his WBO middleweight title on the line against Billy Joe Saunders on Saturday at Manchester Arena.

Lee, 31, won the title just over a year ago when he beat Matt Korobov in Las Vegas and dedicated it to the late Steward.

Andy poor boy manny taught you and Tommy to use your height and reach and power from the outside because you were both tall for division. Why have you brawling in the inside negating your advantage. Combos jab and lights out shot. Now you just load up on right hook. Oh yeah and he knew you both were chiny you were safer on outside. Booth can't shine mannys shoes please

If you listened to your own words booth has you using brute power. You load up and telegraph right hand brute power shot. Manny wanted you using jab height reach combos setting guys up to walk into your power. If a guy is inside on you clinch angle out begin again. You will get caught on inside trying to caveman your right hook

Lee won't always have the height and reach advantage in fights, especially if he moves up in weight which is inevitable. Also he needs to fight on the inside to be a complete fighter like Ward or Lewis. The problem with some of Manny's fighters like Hearns who he taught to use his height and reach and distance was this very thing, they couldn't fight on the inside. For example, if Klitchko could have closed the distance and fought on the inside like Holyfield, Tyson Fury would not have won so easily.
