I can’t think of a time when I don’t have marijuana when watching boxing.

Kirklang Laing was supposedly stoned during most of his fights and he beat Roberto Duran, so...
But for a serious answer, I think a spliff here and there to wind down after a tough training session is okay the same as how many fighters have the occasional beer/drink. While it certainly won't benefit you as an athlete, if it helps your peace of mind and general mood it's not all bad. It depends on you really. Some prefer to live like a monk while training while others need that mental "release" to stay sane, be it a glass of wine in the evening or whatever.
So while clean living is more conducive to optimal performance, unless you're an avid smoker getting stoned every day -- which is an obvious no-no -- it's not the end of the world and you should be fine. Everything in moderation as they say.

Hmmm, even if you are TREMENDOUSLY GIFTED, having bad habits WILL destroy your abilities. I use to notice the effects of alcohol as far as a MONTH after drinking while sparing. I also noticed the effects of eating junk food while boxing. Boxing requires discipline in so many ways that AVERAGE people just can’t do. Are you average?

I used to have a joint now and then after training, especially when the workouts were intense and I needed to calm the nerves or sleep better. But I noticed that on days when I smoked too close to training or sparring, I was definitely slower with reactions and not mentally sharp. Energy levels also felt a little off the next day sometimes. So now I just keep it for off days or when I’m not in the middle of a serious training cycle.
Whenever I do want to chill, I rely on weed delivery Mississauga to get what I need without wasting time heading to a store. Makes things pretty convenient when I'm on a tight schedule.Last edited by Dempsey-Roll; 04-14-2025, 05:02 AM.
