I think (keyword in this post) purse bid winners have between 30-90 days usually to put on the fight. Its something like that anyway so this is in the realm of the expectations for all parties. And if someone is more knowledgeable about this than I am feel free to correct me.

Don't disagree doe on the time table. With it being a HW title, even a paper title, this is of more importance on who wins this than some random title so if I was a fighter I'd probably want more time myself.

Having said that this whole situation has been exhibit A in how f#cked up boxing business can be. Somehow the end game of this situation could be Tyson Fury dethroned a decade long champion only to have the title stripped within a week, week & a half, purse bids within 3 weeks & a whole new HW champion 7 weeks after he did this huge accomplishment in boxing history. Boxing you so crazy.

nope, most all the fighters I represented were early in the developmental stage, and would not be known to anyone.

And I wouldnt expect them to be known to anyone.

You can pretend he is, but Martin certainly isnt a household name. Some hardcores might have noticed him since the Hernandez win. And the "hey everyone look how smart I am" crowd of google warriors will try and claim theyve been following him since the 2012 PALs......

the only thing "ass up" around here is you in the latest Yusef Mack video

              and I retired in 2011, not 2012.

Be careful about typos around here

Most folks retire to somewhere sunny, Florida or Cali. You retired to the forums where you spend everyday face down, ass up , lubed and ready for Gennady. Balls deep.

You ran your mouth without knowing the actual facts. Just admit it and move on.

Warriors Boxing, being winners of the purse bid, can schedule the fight whenever they want; Charles Martin was already in camp, pulled from his fight with days to go to it, so Warriors Boxing was free to stage it whenever their guy was ready.

note: IBF Rules 10.F-1 states that the soonest a promoter can stage a fight after a winning bid is 28 days, with the latest allowed for being 90 days.

From the winning purse bid date to the January 16th Wilder-Szpilka show, Warriors Boxing has, I believe, 31 days, just beyond the lower threshold.
