Comments Thread For: Hopkins Reveals Details of Potential Final Fight

As odd as it may sound for a soon-to-be 51-year old boxer to claim, Bernard Hopkins has every intention of not only going out on his terms but also on top.

The final swan song of one of the most incredible careers in boxing history remains on course for the first quarter of 2016, Hopkins told BoxingScene.com on Thursday. His target has shifted sights, but remains squarely focused on claiming hardware in the super middleweight division.

It could come against Fedor Chudinov, who – while waiting on a rematch with Felix Sturm to materialize – is the one reigning titlist in the division who is free of promotional and political conflict. He also has a clear schedule as long as Sturm continues to stall on plans for a second fight.

GGG vs Hopkins at 164 would be amazing.

Bhop should hang them up, will anyone honestly want to watch 12 rounds of clinch, clinch, clinch the occasional one punch per 3 minutes?

Just cut the **** & retire Bhop. No one wants to see Bhop become WBA old as f#ck champion.

It would br great to see BHop end with a world title. He has earned the right and this would probably ensure he wouldn't try to return.

51 years old most likely 52 when the fight happens. that is just absolutely ridiculous that bernard is still able to hold his own in the ring at that age. it makes u wonder if hes on some kind of ped cause were talking fifty years plus thats so old for an athlete even more so a boxer.

most likely tho its just from him taking care his body and eating right all these years. I hope the fighter he fights is overmatched in some ways so that bernard can go out on top looking good. If anyone deserves a swan song type fight its bernard

I thought the same thing for years. I couldn't figure out how this old man can still fight competitively.

The way he schooled and ruined Pavlik, Cloud, Pascal, and others was so unbelievable. I hope I am wrong but in the era of sports where everyone seems to cheat I would be surprised if we later found out he was on something.

Bhop is a living legend. He's always been a dirty fighter but almost all great fighters are. You have to admire him for his accomplishments, still I wouldn't cross the street to see him fight cause a BHop fight is always ugly.(kinda like FM's fights)
